SJ Geophysics Ltd. and S.J.V. Consultants Ltd. were established by Syd Visser in the early 1980s to provide the mineral exploration, environmental, engineering and oil and gas communities in Canada and around the world with a full range of geophysical consulting services.
Syd and Joyce started in the basement of their Delta home with a few pieces of leased equipment and a list of phone numbers from Syd’s prospecting days. The company has grown steadily over the past few years and we now have a new office in Delta and over 20 full-time employees spread around the world offering dozens of different surveys and providing geophysical consulting services.
Our field teams have conducted surveys in over 30 countries on 6 continents for over 100 clients, from the extreme cold north of the Arctic circle to the deserts of China and central Africa. Well known for excellence in fieldwork, geophysical consulting and project management, the company has established itself as a leading practitioner of 3D induced polarization field surveys and inversion methods.
